Chanthaburi-Trat Border Defense Commander Declares Martial Law Extension Due to Cambodian Invasion

Today (July 25, 2568) reporters report that following the announcement by the Council for Democratic Reform under Constitutional Monarchy dated September 19, 2549 B.E., implementing martial law throughout the Kingdom from September 19, 2549 B.E. at 21:05 hours, which was subsequently followed by a Royal Command to lift martial law in some areas and maintain martial law in some areas dated December 31, 2550 B.E.
It has become apparent that Cambodia has used force and weapons to invade the Kingdom of Thailand along the entire border.
Therefore, it is necessary and unavoidable to use military forces, police, civilians, as well as all Thai people to defend the country from external threats to the Kingdom, in order to preserve national sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as the lives and property of the Thai people. It is necessary to declare martial law in additional areas.
Under the authority of Article 176, paragraph 2 of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand, together with Article 4 of the Martial Law Act B.E. 2557, martial law is hereby implemented in the following additional areas:
Article 1: Chanthaburi Province - Mueang Chanthaburi District, Tha Mai District, Makham District, Laem Sing District, Kaeng Hang Maeo District, Na Yai Am District, and Khao Khitchakut District
Article 2: Trat Province - Khao Saming District This takes effect from now onwards.
